Nursery series

At the end of my pregnancy I felt an intense nesting urge. I wanted to make my son a room where he could sleep and play that was unique, calming and magical. As I love the sea I decided that was the theme I was going for. I made a sketch for the mural and realized that the mainstream medium to use for murals “acrylic couldn’t give me the magical dreamy effect I was looking for. So I decided against all the online advice to make it with watercolour. It took me a while to complete which you can imagine at 36 weeks pregnant, But I think it turned out great. As long as the wall doesn’t get wet it’s a lovely way to personalise a room. I created 3 little watercolour paintings to match the mural. Now my son is here he often points in awe at the art, which makes me so happy.
